Products and Services

Products offered by Rochester Tube Products, Ltd. are used in a wide range of applications where precision dimensions are required.  These applications include fluid handling (lubrication, fuel, hydraulic, coolant, etc.) and structural members, primarily for the automobile industry.  RTP has been supplying fuel rails, brake lines, diesel injector tubes, transmission internal and external lines and a wide range of prefabricated fittings for over 30 years directly to the automotive end-user as well as their Tier 1 fabricators and assemblers.

Other Customers include suppliers of special-purpose rods for inert gas pressurized welding applications; operating hardware for adjustable automobile seating systems; axels and spacers for conveyor systems; furnace heating burner tubes and numerous others.  Some of our most unusual products have been used in ice fishing “pop-up” rods, flower pot hangers and jackets for rifle bullets.

RTP produces the majority of these products from plain or uncoated, low carbon steel.  However, other material such as stainless steel, brass, aluminum and copper are also within our capability. In addition, steel-based materials are available with the outside surface coated in various plastics, galfan, zinc-nickel, copper and galvanize while inner surface coatings such as nickel offer corrosion resistance.

RTP offers its cut-to-length products in diameters from 0.125” to 1.375” (3.2MM to 35MM) with wall thickness from .020” to .100” (0.5MM to 2.5MM).  Lengths between .75 inches to over 20 feet (20MM to 6 meters) are within RTP’s capability.

Several end treatments (chamfered end cuts) are offered on a wide range of diameters, wall thickness’ and lengths.  Standard chamfered angles are 30 to 80-degrees measured parallel to the tube wall.  The cutting process consists of cutting the tube from the outside to within .003 to .005 inches (.07MM to .12MM) of the inner surface and then snapping off the cut piece.  The result is a burr free, perfectly square cut with a consistent chamfer around the circumference of the part.  The cutting equipment is capable of reproducing this process indefinitely thereby providing the customer with identical parts over the life of the application.
